In light of Regnum Christi’s growth in our territory and the corresponding expansion of the reach and impact of our mission, the Territorial Directive College has discerned the need to create a new area of the Mission Support Team called the Area of Apostolic Coordination.
Thy Kingdom Come!

September 21, 2026
Dear friends in Christ,
Last week we celebrated two feast days very close to our hearts, the Exaltation of the Cross and Our Lady of Sorrows. We pray that our Lord and our Blessed Mother accompany all of us in Regnum Christi through both the joys and sorrows of our lives and our mission, showing us the true gift of both.
Looking around the territory, we see that Regnum Christi is growing and our mission is expanding in its reach and impact. In over 70 localities we see God working through the Regnum Christi charism to evangelize culture and bring people to know the love Christ has for them as well as their God-given mission in today’s world. Two apostolic programs that have been an important part of our apostolic footprint across the territory over the years are Mission Youth & Family, and Regnum Christi Mission Corps. Both are expanding into new localities and growing in their impact. Additionally, apostolic initiatives to evangelize marriage and family are emerging and growing organically in localities around the US and Canada.
In light of this, the Territorial Directive College has discerned the need to create a new area that will be integrated into the Mission Support Team called the Area of Apostolic Coordination.
Its initial role will be to oversee Mission Youth & Family and Regnum Christi Mission Corps in the United States and Canada, supporting the programs’ directors, and it will work in collaboration with the other departments of the MST under the direction of Fr. Aaron Smith, LC, territorial delegate for Regnum Christi in North America.
Since the evangelization and support of marriage and family is a priority set by the 2024 Regnum Christi General Convention and in light of the extensive dialogue and discernment that culminated in the Marriage & Family Symposium a few months ago, we will also be exploring ways that this new Area of Apostolic Coordination could connect with and support Regnum Christi’s apostolic efforts in the evangelization of marriage and family across the territory. In a territory as large and varied as ours, we have long felt a need for this kind of part-time, coordinating role – a catalyst for synergy in order to help maximize our impact, more than an additional layer of direction or accountability.
Betty Rivera, a Consecrated Woman of Regnum Christi, has been chosen to lead the Area of Apostolic Coordination, beginning November 9, 2026. Betty previously served in the North American Territory for more than 20 years, with over 15 of them in the United States and Canada. She also currently serves as the Executive Director of RC Education, supporting the Regnum Christi schools in the North American Territory. She has more than 25 years of international experience in leadership, formation, apostolic development, and Regnum Christi governance. Throughout her years of service, she has worked extensively to support the mission of forming apostles and strengthening Regnum Christi apostolates around the world. For the last six years, she served as the territorial director of the Consecrated Women in Spain.
As Betty begins this new role, she looks forward to meeting Regnum Christi members of all vocations and getting to know the lived apostolic experience in our localities.
As you continue to live your mission as Regnum Christi members, please be sure of our prayers for you, and join us in asking our Blessed Mother to guide us as we follow Christ the Apostle.
Yours in Christ,
The Territorial Directive College of Regnum Christi
