Regnum Christi Holy Week Family Missions Chicago

Holy Thursday 7 Church Pilgrimage – Thurs, March 28th

7 Churches is a Lenten tradition of visiting churches to signify the 7 sites associated with Christ’s passion and resurrection. Join us in remembering the significance of His sacrifice so that we might persevere in our own trials in this life and be with Him forever in Heaven. The bus will leave Everest Academy at 8:30 p.m. and return around 11:30 p.m. and a Legionary priest will guide us through the visits. Your children will love this annual experience!

Cost is $10.00 for individuals, $50 for families of 6  

Arrive at 8:30 p.m. at Everest Academy, 11550 Bell Rd, Lemont, IL 60439

8:30 p.m. – 8:45 p.m. Buses Depart (no later than 8:45 p.m.)

St. James at Sag Bridge – 7:00 p.m.

Good  Friday Cross Walk – Fri, March 29th

Walk through downtown Lemont. This is a favorite family tradition.

Join the Legionaries, Consecrated Women and Regnum Christi lay members as we follow Christ by carrying the cross through downtown Lemont. We will gather prayer requests from those we encounter and offer them to Our Lord.

Cost is Free (please register to assist us with planning)

Please note that confessions will be available at St James at Sag Bridge, Lemont from 12pm – 1pm  and 3pm – 4pm

 

Holy Saturday Service Project – Sat, March 30th

Our day of service will be at:

Pacific Garden Mission

1458 S Canal St. Chicago IL 69607

Our service will be from 10 am – 2pm. 

We will be helping with food service and housekeeping ministry

Cost is Free (please register to assist us with planning)

Donations are appreciated to help cover costs.

Holy Week Missions

For youth, families, and adults an opportunity to engage in missionary activities during Holy Week. To encourage corporal and spiritual works of mercy, invite people to Easter Mass, and spend the Holy Days doing the Lord’s work! Multiple mission sites.

ECYD Holy Week Missions – St. Brendan

6-8th grade middle school boys & girls will not be told about being missionaries, they get to be missionaries–fearless & joyful with their friends!  Organized in mission squads (4-6 boys/girls), led by an adult mission leader, they will go serve people in the Cumming community through manual labor, faith surveys, gathering prayer intentions, and serving at charity/donation locations.

New Orleans Holy Week Missions

Holy Week is the holiest week of the year. It is the week we celebrate and remember that God became man, died and rose from the dead for us. There is no better time to go out as a missionary to share God’s love with others!

Alex Kucera

Atlanta

Alex Kucera has lived in Atlanta, GA, for the last 46 years. He is one of 9 children, married to his wife Karmen, and has 3 girls, one grandson, and a granddaughter on the way. Alex joined Regnum Christi in 2007. Out of the gate, he joined the Helping Hands Medical Missions apostolate and is still participating today with the Ghana Friendship Mission.

In 2009, Alex was asked to be the Atlanta RC Renewal Coordinator for the Atlanta Locality to help the RC members with the RC renewal process. Alex became a Group Leader in 2012 for four of the Atlanta Men’s Section Teams and continues today. Running in parallel, in 2013, Alex became a Team Leader and shepherded a large team of good men.

Alex was honored to be the Atlanta Mission Coordinator between 2010 to 2022 (12 years), coordinating 5-8 Holy Week Mission teams across Georgia. He also created and coordinated missions at a parish in Athens, GA, for 9 years. Alex continues to coordinate Holy Week Missions, Advent Missions, and Monthly missions at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Cumming, GA.

From 2016 to 2022, Alex also served as the Men’s Section Assistant in Atlanta. He loved working with the Men’s Section Director, the Legionaries, Consecrated, and Women’s Section leadership teams.

Alex is exceptionally grateful to the Legionaries, Consecrated, and many RC members who he’s journeyed shoulder to shoulder, growing his relationship with Christ and others along the way. He knows that there is only one way, that’s Christ’s Way, with others!
