This month the Regnum Christi North American Territorial Directive College marked a significant milestone with the first meeting of the newly established Marriage and Family Commission. This initiative is a direct response to the 2024 General Convention’s making marriage and family the key areas of apostolic focus for Regnum Christi on an international level. As an application of this in North America, the goal is to unleash the evangelizing power of the sacrament of marriage and to form missionary families.
As a first step towards this ambitious goal, the Marriage and Family Commission was established. The commission’s mandate is to study the various apostolic initiatives and programs offered by Regnum Christi officially or individually by its members for couples and families across North America. The commission will assess the current synergy among these initiatives and develop recommendations to enhance alignment and support from a territorial level. The ultimate aim is to foster the growth and health of these initiatives and to contribute to the renewal of marriage and family in the United States and Canada.
The commission is led by BJ and Jeannine Agugliaro, with members including Patrick and Christina Jacobeen, Dr. Kathleen Musslewhite, Fr. Peter Hopkins LC, Fr. Juan Sabadell LC, and Monica Treviño. This diverse group brings a wealth of experience and dedication to the commission’s work. The commission’s efforts are set to begin immediately and continue until August 2026, with preliminary findings being presented to the Territorial Directive College in November 2025 and a final report being given by the end of the term.
