RC Lay Member Support
Commissions & Task Forces

Apply or Nominate Someone to Get Involved

The area of RC lay member support was recently established to promote, safeguard, and support the growth and development of the RC lay vocation and ensure the formation of RC lay members.  Part of the way we are setting up the area is to have commissions in place to help give input and complete tasks for specific areas.  We are seeking individuals to serve on these Commissions!

We are also working to outline a systematic training plan for RC Formators, and we are establishing a task force that will meet for an in-person workshop in September to give input and feedback on this topic.

Please take a moment to read through the descriptions below and prayerfully discern who you think would be a good fit to serve in this capacity. This is a great opportunity for RC members to contribute beyond their section or locality.  These members will act as “boots on the ground” — bringing their experience from their areas and working to support them through the different initiatives.

Who Can You Nominate?

Nominate someone who is:

  • An active RC lay Member who is officially associated or a RC member who is a Legionary, a Consecrated Woman or Lay Consecrated Man particularly those currently serving RC lay members

  • Has relevant experience to the Commission or Task Force

  • Is familiar with or willing to get familiar with A Framework for the Regnum Christi Lay Apostle (FRCLA)

If you’d like to apply for one of these roles, you’ll have that option later in the form.

What are Commissions?

Commissions are groups of experienced RC members who advise leadership, share best practices, and help implement initiatives. They meet virtually at least quarterly and serve for renewable 3-year terms.

Commissions:

  • RC Men’s Commission

  • RC Women’s Commission

  • RC Young Adults’ Commission

  • RC Couple’s Commission

  • RC Chaplains’ Commission

  • RC Spiritual Directors’ Commission

What are Task Forces?

Task Forces are temporary working groups under a leader to accomplish a specific objective.  Each has a clearly defined scope, outcome, timeline, and dissolves upon completion.  They meet as needed for their assignment.

Task Force to give input on RC Formators’ Systematic Preparation and Training: This Task Force is part of a larger project to develop the systematic formation plan for RC Formators.  This stage of the project is helped by a Task Force comprised of a group of diverse and experienced RC Formators who will give feedback and input to a proposed RC Formators’ certification blueprint and plan, clearly defining course content, methodology, and required resources and the proposed blueprint for on-going formation and training for RC Formators. (Required in person workshop in Waller, TX from September 19 – 21, 2025)

Alex Kucera

Atlanta

Alex Kucera has lived in Atlanta, GA, for the last 46 years. He is one of 9 children, married to his wife Karmen, and has 3 girls, one grandson, and a granddaughter on the way. Alex joined Regnum Christi in 2007. Out of the gate, he joined the Helping Hands Medical Missions apostolate and is still participating today with the Ghana Friendship Mission.

In 2009, Alex was asked to be the Atlanta RC Renewal Coordinator for the Atlanta Locality to help the RC members with the RC renewal process. Alex became a Group Leader in 2012 for four of the Atlanta Men’s Section Teams and continues today. Running in parallel, in 2013, Alex became a Team Leader and shepherded a large team of good men.

Alex was honored to be the Atlanta Mission Coordinator between 2010 to 2022 (12 years), coordinating 5-8 Holy Week Mission teams across Georgia. He also created and coordinated missions at a parish in Athens, GA, for 9 years. Alex continues to coordinate Holy Week Missions, Advent Missions, and Monthly missions at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Cumming, GA.

From 2016 to 2022, Alex also served as the Men’s Section Assistant in Atlanta. He loved working with the Men’s Section Director, the Legionaries, Consecrated, and Women’s Section leadership teams.

Alex is exceptionally grateful to the Legionaries, Consecrated, and many RC members who he’s journeyed shoulder to shoulder, growing his relationship with Christ and others along the way. He knows that there is only one way, that’s Christ’s Way, with others!
