Dear Friends,
This week we celebrate the feasts of St. Monica on Aug. 27 and St. Augustine on Aug. 28. Two great saints for the Church today, whose lives were intimately connected as mother and son. Monica is there for all of us who pray for the conversion of a loved one, especially when not much seems to be happening!
St. Paul tells us to “Rejoice, pray without ceasing, giving thanks in all circumstances” (1 Thess. 5: 16-18), words that must shape our prayer of intercession.
It is meritorious to pray without ceasing, but it also shows that you truly know God when you can wait on Him, rejoicing and giving thanks.
Our intercessory prayer then becomes a prayer of praise. Try it!
You, Father, are good, you are loving and you are Sovereign. I trust in you. I offer this prayer for____, and now I will remain in you, gazing on you, remembering who you are.
In all things we find God and can stay with God.
Yours in the Heart of Christ,
Glory Darbellay
