About the Art
The figurative art reminds us that God himself became flesh, assuming our humanity, since he is not only the God of the Old Testament, whose face no man can see without falling dead to the ground, but Jesus Christ himself who revealed the face of God to us!
The design is done in a very simple and minimalist style, there are no shadows on the cloak and the tunic because Jesus Christ is Light of lights. The red color of the tunic symbolizes the martyrdom that he voluntarily assumed, and the blue cloak is a symbol of his resurrection and divinity. Jesus shows us his glorious wounds in the form of a cross reminding us that He conquered death, conquered it for us and, together with the crown, it reminds us that He is the Savior and King of the world.
The illustration reminds us that Jesus is the King of our lives and of our history, and that if we are going through life tired and burdened we can go to Him to find rest (see Mt 11:28-30).
About the Artist
Tommaso Sacchetti, born in Naples, Italy, has been living in Madrid, Spain for several years now, with his wife Claudia and son Leonardo. He works in the Regnum Christi international communications office, providing design and artistic support. Tommaso has a degree in Fine Arts from the Francisco de Vitoria University in Madrid.
From a very young age he felt an attraction to the art of the paintings in churches by the great Italian masters, and he wondered why today churches are no longer painted as beautifully as before. Moved by this concern he joined a team of painters and had the opportunity to accompany them for a few years creating art, painting many churches around the world. Through this he met his teacher who brought him to Madrid to study a prestigious program of Fine Arts at the University of Francisco de Vitoria.
Today, he continues to work on art projects in churches. While studying, he did an internship as a designer in Spain’s Regnum Christi Communications Office. After completing his studies, he moved to the International Communications Office of Regnum Christi.
Tommaso is also the artist commissioned for the RC Locality Art at the top of each webpage for the Regnum Christi Localities on the Regnum Christi website. To create each unique piece of art, he used the major landmarks from each locality along with the Regnum Christi institutions and important Catholic buildings for each place.
