Deepen your journey into the unforgettable film, The Passion of The Christ. In this authorized, behind-the-scenes look at the movie, Fr. John Bartunek, L.C., provides biblical, historical, and theological insights gleaned from hours spent on the set and interviews with the director, actors, and filmmaking crew. Inside the Passion: An Insider’s Look at the Passion of the Christ is the most complete and thorough commentary on the movie you will read.

I’ve been leading a Lenten study on the Passion of the Christ for three years. In that time, I have researched every book and article on the Passion that I can get my hands on. I started with the Bible study “Jesus’ Passion: The Story of Redemptive Suffering” several years ago […], and have added to the presentation using material from a number of sources including: The Dolorous Passion as revealed to Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich, The Theology Of The Passion Of The Christ by Monica Miller, A Doctor at Calvary by Dr. Pierre Barbet, and many others. I love all of those books, but if I could only keep one of those books, I would keep “Inside the Passion”. It draws from a combination of theological insights, (both scripture and tradition) and historical context, while including insights from the movie producer, script, actors and production crew. By giving you this insight, Fr. Bartunek draws you more fully into the movie, intellectually and spiritually, allowing you to more fully enter into Christ’s Passion, to which we are all called. If you have any interest at all in the Passion of Christ, this is a must have. — Amy Julian
