Delegates to the 2018 Extraordinary General Chapter and General Assemblies Announced

There are three major international events coming up for the Regnum Christi Movement. The first two, the Extraordinary General Chapter of the Legionaries of Christ and the General Assembly of the Consecrated Women of Regnum Christi, run concurrently, March 26 to April 7, 2018, in Rome.

From April 9 to April 20th, delegates from all four branches of Regnum Christi will meet in Rome for the first part of the Joint General Assembly of the Regnum Christi Movement. Their job will be to deliberate on the newly published Second Draft of the General Statutes of the Regnum Christi Federation, in preparation for a second session of the assembly to be held in November, which will change or ratify the document before it is sent to the Holy See for approval.

Each of these events are governed by canon law, and the official constitutions and statutes of each branch. Members are chosen to attend either ex-officio, or by election.

The complete list of  Legionaries of Christ who will attend their general chapter, and the list of consecrated women who will attend their general assembly, are listed on the official Regnum Christi statutes renewal webpage. At these meetings, several members of each branch will be elected to participate with members from all of the branches in the Joint General Assembly of the Regnum Christi Movement, which will be held the next week.

The Lay Consecrated Men of Regnum Christi have already held their general assembly and chosen their delegates to the Joint General Assembly.

The Lay Members of Regnum Christi who will be delegates to the Joint General Assembly were all elected by their fellow members in their own territories, with the exception of Francisco Gamez, who attends ex-officio in his role as a member of the governing Regnum Christi General Committee.

As global events, participation is allocated by ratio, with those territories who have more members filling more seats at the general assembly or general chapter. The participants in each from the Territory of North America are below. You can read their bios here .
