The Mystery of Eternal Love | An RC Retreat Guide on the Blessed Trinity with Fr. John Bartunek, LC

The Mystery of Eternal Love: A Retreat Guide on the Blessed Trinity

According to Pope Benedict XVI, as human beings, we have imprinted upon our spiritual DNA a profound mark of the Trinity, of God as Love. For we are created in the image and likeness of God, and, as the First Letter of John puts it, “God is love.” But who is this God in whose image we’re created? What difference does it make to say God is a Trinity of Persons? What kind of relationship can we have with the Blessed Trinity? These questions are central to any Christian’s life. In this Retreat Guide on the Blessed Trinity, The Mystery of Eternal Love, we’ll contemplate exactly that.

  • In the First Meditation, we’ll consider what the Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches about the Blessed Trinity. We’ll also examine the experience of two friends of God to help guide us deeper into the mystery.
  • In the Second Meditation, we’ll look at the response of Abraham, our father in faith, to the “Theophany” at Mamre in the book of Genesis.
  • And finally, the Conference will explore Saint John Paul II’s teaching on the Trinitarian shape of prayer, helped by one of the greatest icons in Russian history. We’ll draw out some practical applications for our own lives, as we seek to live in the light of this tremendous mystery of love in whose image we are created.

We are excited to share with you an improved version of this Retreat Guide. It is now available for purchase as a booklet on Amazon. The booklet journal includes the entire text for each meditation, conference, and reflection questions by Fr. John Pietropaoli, LC along with space for taking notes and journaling. We hope it helps to further open your heart to Christ.

Miracles of Mercy | A Retreat Guide On The Healing Touch of Jesus with Fr. John Bartunek, LC

Miracles of Mercy: A Retreat Guide on the Healing Touch of Jesus

When was the last time you reflected deeply, even meditated, on one of Jesus’ miracles? He performed an awful lot of them. Thirty-four are recorded in the Gospels. And St. John tells us that those are just a small percentage of the total. He writes:

“There are also many other things that Jesus did, but if these were to be described individually, I do not think the whole world would contain the books that would be written.” —John 21:25

If Jesus performed so many miracles, there must have been a reason. God must have something to say to us through all these miraculous deeds. What is the message behind these miracles? That’s the question that this Retreat Guide, Miracles of Mercy: A Retreat Guide on the Healing Touch of Jesus, will explore.

  • In the First Meditation we will look at two of Jesus’ miracles and see how they reveal God’s power and his love. In other words, they show that he not only is able to heal us, but he also wants to.
  • In the Second Meditation, we will reflect on a different event to see how all of Jesus’ miracles are also signs meant to point our attention towards our true destiny.
  • And in the Conference, we will see how we ourselves can become better and better living signs of God’s mercy, living miracles, as it were, by understanding and taming the emotion of anger. Let’s begin by quieting our hearts and turning our attention once again to the Lord, who never stops paying attention to us.

Let’s ask him for all the graces we need, most especially the grace to experience a fresh, through this Retreat Guide on Christ’s miracles of mercy, the healing touch of Jesus.

Fire & Thorns | A Regnum Christi Retreat Guide on the Sacred Heart with Fr. John Bartunek, LC

Fire and Thorns: A Retreat Guide on the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Pope Benedict XVI called devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus “irreplaceably important.” Pope Pius XI called it “the very epitome of our religion.” Why is this devotion so central? And if it is, how are we supposed to tap into it and live it to the full? That’s what this month’s Retreat Guide, Fire and Thorns: A Retreat Guide on the Sacred Heart of Jesus will explore. In the First Meditation, we will ponder the amazing invitation at the core of this devotion. In the Second Meditation, we will dig into the deeper meanings behind the symbols that Jesus himself chose to associate with this devotion. And in the conference, we will review the tried and true practices that can connect us more intimately to Our Lord’s Most Sacred Heart.

The Colors of the Cross: A Regnum Christi Retreat Guide with Fr. John Bartunek, LC

The Colors of the Cross: A Retreat Guide for Lent

During Lent, the Church calls every one of us to intensify our quest for Christ. The Colors of the Cross, our latest Retreat Guide, is a tool that will certainly help you do that. In this Retreat Guide, we reflect on the three colors of the cross. The first, the brown color of the wood, helps us understand why Jesus chose to be crucified. The second, the red color of Christ’s blood, reveals the meaning of our own crosses. The third, the simple skin color of Christ’s humanity, gives us the secret to carrying our crosses faithfully and fruitfully.
